Herbal Bathing

What is Herbal Bathing?

Herbal bathing is relaxing, enjoyable, and a valuable self-care tool. Taking time to luxuriate in the bath is a well-known stress-buster, relieving tension, soothing aching muscles and joints, stimulating circulation, getting you sleep ready.

Immersing your body into an herbal bath is a wonderful way to use herbs therapeutically. Our skin absorbs the healing powers of the herbs, while our senses inhale the aromatherapy benefits of Essential Oils through steam.

So take a bath, light a candle or listen to some music, and your body will thank you!

How to Use

You can go ahead and throw some herbs and flowers in your bath. It will look and feel pretty, but it does get messy at clean up time.

We recommend you use a bath tea ball, much like what you use for your herbal cup of tea, or a muslin bag.

Soak for 20-40mins while the bathing tea infuses your bath water.

Used herbs can be thrown in the compost or garden.

Herbs for Health

Chamomile is a timeless bathing remedy herb. It is calming, relaxing and soothing. It quiets the nervous system and is the healing remedy of choice after a physically or emotionally demanding day. Chamomile is also antispasmodic so it helps reduce muscle cramps and muscle tension.

Lavender is calming to the nervous system and helps to relax the mind. Its antispasmodic activity also helps to relax the muscles. Lavender can relieve tension headaches, muscle strain and stress.

Peppermint is the ultimate muscle relaxer. It helps relieve tense and sore muscles. Once your muscles let go and relax, your mind follows the lead! I love having peppermint in my bath at the end of the day. It has an amazing ability to clear the mind and built up tension from the day.

Lemon Balm Leaf is calming and helps to induce sleep as well as relieve nervous tension.

Infuse your bath with added benefits from Epsom salts for detoxification, Oatmeal and Coconut for skin softening, Baking Soda to relieve itchy skin, Dried Flowers for aroma, and Essential Oils for aromatherapy benefits.
